The Antitrust Office has applied a 1 million Kč (36,000 euros) fine to České Dráhy (ČD) for a defective lease of Taurus locomotives from Austria’s railways in 2014. The decision has already become effective. ČD has to pay the fine within two months. The fine was imposed for making contracts for the lease of Taurus locomotives between 2008 and 2012 (the contracts being effective between 2009 and 2013) without a tender procedure. Taurus locomotives, leased from Austria, are the only locomotives used for pulling the Railjet trains that operate on the Prague–Vienna–Graz route.
