CRRC Sifang Co., Ltd and São Paulo Metropolitan Train Company (CPTM) signed a contract for the supply of 8 metro trains (64 cars) for the Line 13. This is the first CRRC’s contract in São Paulo.
The vehicles for Line 13 will begin to be delivered in 2019.
These metro trains will be fitted with 4 motor 4 trailer marshaling with wide gauge (1600mm) and the maximum operating speed is 90 km/h. The design will be based on Chinese A type metro platform combining Brazilian standard system and local culture.
Meanwhile, in order to ensure rapidness, comfort and security performance, these trains will be fitted with advanced security systems as well as information processing technology such as derailment detection, water mist fire extinguishing and ground-train 3G/4G information transmission etc.
The new 10.3 km line, with 8 km of overhead bridges and 3 stations will enable almost 120.000 passengers a day to travel from the centre of Saõ Paulo to Guarulhos international airport.
