Saint Petersburg city administration has awarded the contract to develop the project plan for the construction of the light rail line connecting Pulkovo Airport and Kupchino metro station in the city.
Within the contract framework Institute Giprostroymost St. Petersburg will develop project surveying and preferred routes for the airport link, taking into account the urban development characteristics and the needs of the residents in terms of connectivity and interchange nodes.
The Institute will also determine the legal status of the land along the route and prepare options for financial and economic model of the project. In addition, the company is exploring the potential of passenger traffic growth from 2016 to 2045, to calculate the expected revenue, as well as the line’s impact to road traffic.
