According to RM Rail Business Development Director Andrey Vodopyanov, around 25,000 freight cars will be manufactured in the CIS in 2016. Half of the cars will be 25 t/axle gondola cars. About 80% of the manufactured cars are to be sold to captive companies.
“Further on, demand for cars with improved specifications tailored to customers’ needs may rise. Such rolling stock is more efficient due to improved freight capacity and decreased tare weight as well as wider scope of cargoes they can handle”, Andrey Vodopyanov added.
