China opens new high-speed railway line

Trains started operating on the new Wuhan-Jiujiang high-speed railway line in China, connecting Hubei’s provincial capital Wuhan and Jiujiang city in East China’s Jiangxi province. The line stretches 224 km and has 17 stations. Currently, there are 26 round trips available on the line each day, including eight high-speed round trips.
The Wuhan-Jiujiang rail line links two other major railway lines, the Beijing-Guangzhou and Beijing-Jiujiang high-speed railway lines, helping to cut travel time from Jiangxi province to major cities like Beijing and Guangzhou. It now takes only six hours and 17 minutes to travel from Nanchang, capital of Jiangxi, to Beijing, compared with eight hours in the past.
