China has begun the construction of a new high-speed rail line that will link the northern Shanxi province to the central province of Henan.
The 358 km line will connect the capital of Shanxi, Taiyuan, with Henan’s Jiaozuo City. In Henan, the line will have a 33 km length.
The construction of the railway line will take 4 and a half years with a total investment of CNY 43 billion (USD 6.36 billion).
The new line will become an important rail connection between north and central China. It is designed to speeds of 250 km/h and will have a capacity of 40 million passengers.
