President of Kazakh Railways, Askar Mamin, had a meeting with a delegation of Chongqing (China), headed by deputy head of the municipal government Chen Heping. They discussed the further development of the railway route “Chongqing – Duisburg” through Kazakhstan.
KTZ Express (Kazakhstan) and Minsheng Logistics (China) agreed to establish a joint venture to organize the ongoing container trains between China and Germany as well as the establishment of the trial trains from China to Turkey. Container train to Turkey will depart also from Chongqing as in China-Germany service.
As known, in 2011 the sides have organized the movement of regular container train “Chongqing -Dostyk – Duisburg”. Last year this railway was followed by 91 container trains, which is 2, 5 times more than in 2013.
“The functioning of the international route “Chongqing – Duisburg” promotes the operation of the Eurasian economic cooperation and trade relations. This year it is planned to increase the number of container trains to 250 in both directions”, a KTZ report says.
