„In the most recent tender procedures organised by the Romanian railway infrastructure manager – CFR SA for rehabilitation works on sectors of the railway Corridor 4, section km 614 – Simeria, Alstom was surprised to face critical procedural inaccuracies, specifically, discretionary changes of the tender documentation, which culminated with the refuse to receive Alstom’s offer. Alstom-led consortium had its offers officially rejected on the ground that it was not submitted on time, although the location for submitting the offer was discretionary and untransparently changed by CFR. After having carefully analysed the situation and in compliance with its internal policies, Alstom is considering filing claims, as well as starting all the necessary legal investigations in order to correct the wrong-doing in organizing the bids”, Alstom Transport Romania informs.
In Romania, Alstom Transport has been present for over 20 years, with a strong history in serving the passengers and operators through maintenance activity, infrastructure works and installation of signalling systems. As a market leader in signalling and rehabilitation works, Alstom has successfully contributed to such projects in the country. The above-mentioned actions have the role to ensure a fair and comprehensive analysis of the situation that led to the most arbitrary and discretionary exclusion of an extremely capable and experienced company.
On 18 May, CFR SA resumed the tender for rehabilitation and modernisation works on section Km 614 – Simeria, part of the Pan-European railway Corridor IV. The rehabilitation works include Section 2: subsection 2a: Km 614 – Cap Y Bârzava; subsection 2b: Cap Y Bârzava-Cap Y Ilteu; subsection 2c: Cap Y Ilteu – Gurasada and Section 3: Gurasada – Simeria.
