Bulgarian railway company BDZ has launched a tender for repair and maintenance of 1,166 locomotive wheelsets. The contract is estimated at BGN 5.4 million (EUR 2.8 million). The deadline for submitting offers is 31 October. Bids will be ranked solely according to the price offered.
This August, the company announced that intends to invest in rolling stock renewal. Thus, it will call for tender to vehicles repairs and will buy new units. The tenders should be launched by the end of the year and it is estimated at EUR 179 million.
BZD will use the annual capital transfer from the central budget valuated at EUR 17.8 million, to finance a part of the project.
