Azerbaijan Railways (ADY) will purchase 4 more Stadler Kiss double-deck electric trains for the Baku-Ganja railway, the company’s chairman Javid Gurbanov said, Trend reports. “Last year we purchased five Stadler electric trains which are successfully running on the Baku-Sumgait route. We transport 4,000 passengers on this route every day. For the next year, we plan to increase the number of such trains to nine and send additional trains on the Baku-Ganja route,” Gurbanov said.
In June 2016, Stadler completed the delivery of 5 Kiss double-deck EMUs for ADY, under a EUR 70 million contract.
