Australia: GrainCorp to invest in railway upgrading projects

02_australiaGrain handler GrainCorp will allocate USD 60 million to revitalise its grain handling network. This is the first part of an investment of USD 200m over three years announced last year. The investments will target a network of over 50 high capacity country sites.
GrainCorp will open new sites at Yamala (Queensland) and Callen (New South Wales) and will install new over rail loaders at existing sites at Nevertire and Ardlethan (New South Wales). Other funds will be used to upgrade existing infrastructure at Narrabri (New South Wales), Burren Junction (New South Wales), Spring Ridge (New South Wales), Junee (New South Wales), Oaklands (New South Wales), Tocumwal (New South Wales), Rainbow (Victoria) and Murrayville (Victoria). The company will also expand capacity at Red Bend and Ardlethan (New South Wales).
The works will start this month and be staged for the receival of the winter crop this year and the rail outloading program next year.
