China has disbursed the first USD 370 Million destined to the restoration of the Belgrano Cargas railway. They are part of the USD 4.7 Billion for infrastructure works agreed by the Governments of Argentina and China last August.
This credit, which entails a direct investment from China, is the first of a series of disbursements. Another USD 600 Million are expected in November, destined to the Jorge Cepernic and Néstor Kirchner hydroelectric plants to be built on the Santa Cruz river.
Belgrano Cargas metre gauge railway is 10.8km long and was renationalised in 2013.
