Over 19.7 million passengers travelled on Aeroexpress trains in 2014, including the Moscow, Kazan, and Vladivostok routes and the commuter route to the town of Lobnya, thus making up to an increase in passenger flow of more than 30% over the last three years.
The total passenger traffic to the three Moscow airports came to 16.6 million people. In 2014, the company’s market share for intermodal transportation within the Moscow Air Cluster reached 25.46%.
“One of the key decisions made in 2014 was the termination of our operation in the regions, which was primarily caused by the unprofitableness of these routes. Nevertheless, this fact gives us the opportunity to focus our efforts on the operation in the metropolitan area and strengthen Aeroexpress’ positions in the intermodal transportation market,” Alexey Krivoruchko, CEO of Aeroexpress said.
