Siemens Mobility and DB Cargo celebrated the completion of the 100th Vectron MS locomotive which will operate in Germany, Austria, Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia and the Netherlands.
In January, the two companies signed a second framework agreement for the supply of 100 Vectron MS locomotives, with an initial order for 40 units. The deliveries started in February and will be completed by 2020.
In 2017, DB Cargo signed with Siemens Mobility an agreement for 100 Vectron locomotives, with an initial call for 60 vehicles and 40 Vectron locomotives an additional option.
The Vectron MS locomotives have an output of 6.4MW and are able to run at a top speed of 160 km/h. They are equipped with the required national train control systems as well as the European Train Control System (ETCS).
