United Transport and Logistics Company – Eurasian Rail Alliance, in cooperation with Belarus’ forwarding company Belintertrans, has launched the Green Stream project. This consists of a container train loaded with milk and cream from Kolyadichy (Belarus) to Chengdu. The two companies developed a technology to form and forward full-length container trains from the Belarus to China, with Lupolovo station (Belarus) as a new waypoint. From here, a 41-feet container train loaded with powder milk was sent to Chungking on October 24, 2018.
“High speed and competitive railway services open new sales markets for Belarus goods manufacturers in China. This new business area is one of priorities for UTLC ERA,” company’s President Alexey Grom said.
Two months since the first container departed from Brest to Chengdu, geographic reach of Belarus export to China has expanded. UTLC ERA in cooperation with Belintertrans commenced regular shipment to Chungking, Chengdu, and Zhengzhou. The first full-length container train carrying confectionery and powder milk was sent from Kolyadichy station to Chungking in September, while, in October, the first train on route Kolyadichy – Chengdu followed.

The company lanunched in August 40 forty-foot container trains carrying powder milk, confectionary, and alcoholic products departed from Brest station. Currently, “a positive background has been created to organize a regular shipment of Belarus goods to China by railway transport,” UTLC ERA Vice President Igor Zgurskiy explained.
By the first 9 months of 2018, the total volume of freight traffic of UTLC ERA reached a record high of 186 000 TEUs. In September 2018, the company transported 28 853 TEUs, increasing from 16.4 thousand TEUs, registered in the same month of 2017.
