Egypt National Authority for Tunnels (NAT) may receive a EUR 180 million financing from the European Investment Bank for the rehabilitation of metro line 1 of the Cairo metro network.
The project includes the renewal of the signalling system, telecommunications equipment, centralised control system, power supply, track repairs and the electrical and mechanical systems.
For this project, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development aims at providing finance of up to EUR 200 million to the Ministry of Transport represented by National Authority for Tunnels for the planned upgrade of Cairo Metro Line 1 project.
