Grand Central Rail has announced a new e-ticketing service which makes the ticket buying and travel experience more convenient for its passengers. Grand Central’s e-ticket system allows customers to purchase tickets online and display them on their mobile device. The ticket is sent via email as a downloadable PDF, where the barcode is scanned by train crew and/or at ticket gates. The e-ticketing service is available on desktop and mobile devices and is valid for Grand Central Advance fares, available to book up to two hours before travelling.
“We are always striving to improve our customer experience and we listen to our passengers, which is one of the reasons we are consistently awarded positive feedback in the National Rail Passenger Survey. As a result, we know that our customers want more convenience, less complication and more use of technology to enhance their journey with us and this new e-ticketing service does those things. Not only is it environmentally friendly, but it offers our passengers a fast and efficient way of storing their ticket, and a way of doing business which makes sense to them,” Richard McClean, Managing Director of Grand Central Rail, said.
Grand Central Railway Company operates West Riding services between Bradford Interchange, Low Moor, Halifax, Brighouse, Mirfield, Wakefield Kirkgate, Pontefract Monkhill, Doncaster and London Kings Cross, as well as North East services between Sunderland, Hartlepool, Eaglescliffe, Northallerton, Thirsk, York and London Kings Cross.Cross.
