MILAN IS THE NEW VENUE FOR ITALY’S RAIL TECHNOLOGY SHOWCASE
By the beginning of April, the number of companies planning to exhibit at EXPO Ferroviaria 2017, Italy’s rail technology showcase, had reached nearly 200 from 15 countries, with around 4,300m² of floor space already occupied.
The list of exhibitors includes many of the industry’s top names, among them Alstom Ferroviaria, Hitachi Rail Italy, Knorr-Bremse Rail Systems Italia, PESA Bydgoszcz, Voith Turbo, Vossloh AG and Wabtec Corporation. They are joined by firms representing every sector of the railway supply chain ranging from signalling technology, track products and infrastructure maintenance equipment to rolling stock subsystems and advanced electronics. A full list of exhibitors is available at www.expoferroviaria.com.
This year EXPO Ferroviaria will be held in Milan for the first time, taking place at the city’s prestigious Rho Fiera from 3 to 5 October. It will be the eighth of these successful events – Italy’s only regular exhibition covering the entire market for railway technology, products and services
Making Milan the new venue for the show has enabled organisers Mack Brooks Exhibitions to introduce an exciting new highlight – an outdoor area for the display of rolling stock and on-track equipment. This will be located at the Fiorenza depot of regional train operator TreNord, immediately adjacent to the Rho Fiera exhibition venue.
Inside the show, a large section of the exhibition hall will be assigned to the Infrastructure Area, underlining the vital importance of this sector of the industry, with On Track Displays of equipment and products forming a central feature .
And to provide insights into trends in rail technology and policy, there will again be a full programme of conferences and seminars, plus technical visits to local railway sites. Details will be added to the show website as plans are finalised.
