Ukraine’s Antimonopoly Committee has compelled Ukrzaliznytsia to amend the tender documents for the acquisition of six three-wagon passenger diesel train for regional transportation valued at UAH 1.062 billion (EUR 37 million), Interfax reports.
The decision was made after discussing a complaint of a potential bidder in the tender, Kriukov Car Building Works (KCBW). KCBW stated that the conditions of the tender are discriminative and written to favor Poland’s Pesa. According to Chairman of the supervisory board of KCBW Volodymyr Prykhodko, the conditions of the tender announced by Ukrzaliznytsia on 7 March 2017 repeat the concrete technical characteristics of Polish Pesa rail vehicles and bar the national manufacturer from participation in the tender. The company asked for the revision of the document and the removal of discrimination.
