The Hungarian government has approved the plans of the passenger unit of railway company MÁV to procure IC+ carriages the company designs and assembles itself. The total value of the procurement is HUF 45.4 billion (EUR 145 million).
The resolution targets procurements of HUF 3.2 bln (EUR 10.2 million) in 2017, HUF 12.8 bln (EUR 41 million) in 2018, HUF 16 bln (EUR 51.2 million) in 2019, and HUF 13.4 bln (EUR 42.9 million) in 2020.
The same resolution allocates HUF 6.5 bln (EUR 20.8 million) to fund the local design and construction of vehicles for Budapest’s metro Line 1 and cogwheel railway.
