Aeroexpress plans to put into operation double-decker trains in July 2017, according to Aeroexpress’ Executive Director Valery Fedorov. Five out of 11 trains have already been manufactured and delivered to Russia. “Repetitive certification tests are ongoing now”, Valery Fedorov noted. “The manufacturer is to certify these trains and the certification is somewhat delayed due to our Russian, specifics,” he explained.
Under a contract signed in 2016, Stadler will supply 9 six-car and 2 four-car double-decker trains to Aeroexpress. Initially, the contract was signed for 24 trains but then the amount was decreased.
