Victorian Government awarded John Holland the contract to construct the Mernda Rail Extension project, which has a total value of nearly USD 600 million.
The project will extend the South Morang line to Mernda, including 8 km of new double-track line between South Morang station and Mernda and new stations at Mernda, Marymede and Hawkstowe.
Construction is scheduled to commence in the coming months and take approximately two years to complete.
