Belgrade – Pancevo railway line will be finished soon

Serbia will soon restore the railway traffic on Belgrade – Pancevo railway line after the modernization works implemented by RZD International.
During the reconstruction of the overpasses RZD International has implemented reconstruction of piers, drilling and concrete works, installation of new metal spans, and at the final stage a new asphalt layer was laid on the highway and sidewalks. Upon completion of the reconstruction of the overpasses tracks and catenary system will be restored.
In August 2015, after laying new tracks on this section, significant deformation of the overpasses was discovered during train traffic tests. RZD International requested an additional technical inspection of the overpasses with ultrasonic inspection of welds. The results have shown that the spans were in poor condition, and the use of initial design parameters could lead to the demolition of the structure.
