European Investment Bank may finance the new metro line of Istanbul underground metro. The project that will be implemented by Metro İstanbul involves the construction of a 13.4 km line (Atakoy – Ikitelli line) and 12 new stations on the European side of Istanbul. The new metro line will intersect with six different urban rail systems and provide improved network connections.
The new line will carry around 45,000 passengers per hour in one direction, and will be integrated including the Marmaray and another metro line in Bağcılar.
The total cost of the project and the EIB proposed finance are not disclosed.
