Azerbaijan has invited Uzbekistan to benefit from the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway project, said Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov during a meeting with with his Uzbek counterpart, Abdulaziz Khafizovich Kamilov.
Mammadyarov informed his counterpart about the restoration of the historical ‘Silk Road’ and the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars project, in particular, and noted favorable opportunities for Uzbekistan to take advantage of them.
The BTK line will link Georgia, Azerbaijan and Turkey. In December 2015, Georgia has completed building its section of the USD 600 million Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway project. On Turkey’s side, it was announced that tests of the railway will be launched in late 2016.
