Škoda Vagonka, a subsidiary of Škoda Transportation, will deliver three new double-deck EJ 575 trains to Lithuanian Railways. The value of the trains is CZK 750 million (EUR 27.7 million). The first new electric unit was tested in passenger transport on the Vilnius-Kaunas line. The company plans to hand over two additional units in spring 2017.
Škoda Transportation’s Vice President Sales Ivo Gurňák said that the trains for crossborder transport from Vilnius to Minsk (Belarus) were partially adapted. Škoda Vagonka has previously manufactured 10 electric trains for Lithuanian Railways.
