CCR Metrô Bahia, the concessionaire responsible for the construction and operation of Salvador Metro, announced that it has has started tests on metro line 2, that marks the final phase of the works. The dynamis tests were conducted on the 1.5 km section between Detran and Rodoviária stations.
“We managed to get to the train, rails and all the necessary systems to operate the Metro North 2 Access, thus ensuring the operation of this section of Line 2 by the end of the year,” CCR Metrô Bahia President Luís Valença said.
The works for metro Line 2 started in February 2015 and are 69% completed and should be finalised by 2017.
In December 2015, Brazil’s National Bank for Economic and Social Development announced that will provide the Bahia state government a USD 530 million loan for the second phase of the metro project in Salvador.
