Starting August, single technical regulations in field of railway transport came into into effect in the Eurasian Economic Union, the Eurasian Economic Commission announced.
According to this provision, the decision of EEC on the extension of the transitional provisions of technical regulations of EEU “On safety of railway rolling stock”, “On Safety of high-speed rail transport” and “On safety of railway transport infrastructure” have entered into force. Documents regulate security of locomotives, passenger and freight cars, railway platforms and stations.
It is noted that the date of final transition to uniform requirements has been set: August 2, 2017.
Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan Russia and now Kyrgyzstan (August 2012) are the member states forming the EEU.
