Lithuanian state-owned railway carrier Lieutvos Gelezinkeliai has launched free Wi-Fi services based on the LTE network of mobile operator Omnitel on trains connecting cities of Vilnius and Kaunas.
Free Wi-Fi services were also introduced on trains connecting the cities of Vilnius and Klaipeda earlier this summer. Omnitel owns almost 1,000 LTE base stations across the country; the network covers 97 percent of the country’s area and 99 percent of its population.
