Keshet Modi’in has won the tender organized by the Israel Railways to build the rail link between Modi’in and the new Jerusalem-Tel Aviv fast rail link.
The 2.5 kilometer rail line is valued at NIS 77 million (17.8 million euros). The journey time between Modi’in and Jerusalem will be reduced to just 17 minutes from 2019 when the link is completed.
Work on the 38 kilometer Jerusalem-Tel Aviv electrified rail line will be completed in less than two years, with trains slated to start running by the second half of 2018. Travel time between the two cities will be reduced to less than 30 minutes.
