The metre-gauge trains will be able to run at an operating speed of 100km/h and a maximum speed of 120km/h. The contract includes 27 four-carriage, 76.44-metre-long self-powered multiple-unit trains. It also includes an option for up to 20 additional vehicles. The total order volume amounts to CHF 285 million (EUR 263 million).
The air-conditioned self-powered multiple units will be equipped with 35 seats in first class, 137 seats in second class and two wheelchair spaces. The high-performance trains from Stadler are particularly attractive thanks to their low life-cycle costs and high availability and reliability.
