The 11th edition of the Railway PRO Technologies and Services Forum “Powering the future rail and multimodal transport business” has been organised by Club Feroviar and Railway PRO with the support of the Romanian Railway Association (AIF) at Poiana Brașov on 23-24 March.
On this occasion Ovidiu Bologea, Counsellor at Astra Vagoane Călători, presented, exclusively at the Railway PRO Forum the ”Autentic” tram, the latest product of the Arad-based company.
The concept design of the ”Autentic” tram has been developed by ASTRA’s own R&D department, taking advantage of its previous experience in tram vehicles updated according to the last technical developments with the final goal to meet the passenger needs at the highest level. The result is a “state-of-the-art” tramway, which combines ASTRA’s previous experience with the actual last development regarding equipment and fulfills the requirements of the standards and norms, with an increased comfort and safety for passengers and optimized exploitation for the operator.
The tram has a modular concept, an attractive design and its configuration is adapted to face the varied market requirements concerning price, operation quality and maintenance costs. Autentic is the newest tram developped by Astra Vagoane Calatori, to provide an improved mobility in crowded cities. The tram features customized modern and attractive design, double-leaf access doors, with a total width of 1300mm, on one side or both sides, according to customer requirements, provides quick and easy access for passengers.
This new product benefits from 100% low floor for more comfort. The ”Autentic” tram offers spacious interiors with bright colors, modified according to customer requirements, air conditioning in the driver’s cab and passenger saloon and large electronic displays that can be read easily. The interior design can be changed according to specific customer requirements.
The new design provides a new freedom in the arrangement of doors. Each module can be equipped with up to two doors on one side. Thus, 30% of the length of the tram may be equipped with doors. Passenger access doors located near the driver’s cab are standard to ensure easy access, but each door leaf can be activated separately. Nominal height of access area can be chosen between 320 and 350 mm.
