Egypt has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Spain-based Talgo Company, one of the largest European companies in the field of high-speed trains.
Talgo will cooperate with the Egyptian National Railways in establishment of a plant for integrated mobile units and new lines of high-speed trains in Egypt. The MoU was signed in Cairo, by Ahmed Hamed, the Chairman of the Egyptian National Railways and Carlos Palacio Oriol, Chairman of Talgo Company.
AVRIL is Talgo’s latest development which has been conceived as a platform adaptable to the needs of each client. AVRIL stands for Alta Velocidad Rueda Independiente Ligero (Light Independent Wheel High Speed), which are the main technical characteristics of this new train.
