The Procurement Monitoring Bureau has authorized Rigas Satiksme, the public transport company in Riga, to continue its procurement procedure for low-floor trams. The procurement had been halted following a complaint by PESA that its bid had been turned down by Rigas Satiksme. The Procurement Monitoring Bureau’s investigation found that no procurement rules had been violated, therefore there were no grounds for suspending or halting the procurement process. Rigas Satiksme seeks to order twenty new low-floor trams for approx. EUR 70 million. The company has received bids from Stadler Polska, Pojazdy Szynowe PESA Bydgoszcz Spolka Akcyjna, and Skoda Transportation.
