In January, Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) has started the first phase of Arrott Transportation Center construction, that is expected to last through winter 2018.
The project includes the railway station improvements and involves new platforms with tactile edging, repair/replacement of stairways, handrails, new metal wall panels, tile wall finishes, and canopy roof replacement. Safety and security enhancements include lighting, power, and communication system upgrades. New public oriented features will include an Art in Transit installation.
The project’s budget is USD 38.5 million.
