The city mulled the reintroduction of trams in 2006; in 2009 a feasibility study concluded that city’s transport problems could be solved by returning trams to the city’s streets. The new 11 km network brings the number of Polish cities with cities with trams to 15. The project had a total value of EUR 57.27 million, with EU co-financing from the 2007-2013 budget.
