The second container train via the Trans-Caspian international transport route arrived in Georgia by transiting through the Azerbaijani territory, Azerbaijan Railways announced, Trend reports.
The train, consisting of 44 wagons, departed from the Alashankou export station of the Chinese Urumqi-Xinjiang province and arrived in Tbilisi in eight days transiting through the territory of Azerbaijan.
The operation of this container train became possible as a result of negotiations conducted by the heads of the state railway companies at the meetings of the Coordination Committee of Trans-Caspian international transport route.
The project is being implemented by Kazakhstan Temyr Zholy, China Railways, Azerbaijan Railways, Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company and Baku International Sea Trade Port.
