Swaziland Minister of Transport Lindiwe Dlamini announced that EUR 150 million were invested for Swaziland Rail Link project. The project had seen both pre-feasibility and feasibility studies being undertaken, Swaziland Railway CEO Stephenson Ngubane said.
The project involves the construction of a new railway line that will link Lothair in Mpumalanga and Sidvokodvo in Swaziland. For this project, Swaziland Railway and Transnet Freight Rail signed in 2012 an Inter- Governmental Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
The project is estimated to be completed in 2017.
