Detroit’s M1 Rail tram project, previously scheduled to be opend for the public in 2016, has been delayed until the spring of 2017. The delay is a result of a need to work through updated safety regulations and the late delivery of the trams.
The deadline has been extended once before. The initial schedule expected to have the project passenger ready by 2015. Works on the project started in 2008.
The M1 Rail will have 3.3 miles. The value of the project is $140 million.
