Spanish company Obrascon Huarte Lain SA will carry out the construction of the Follo Line project, the Norwegian Railway Authority has announced. This is the third of six large EPC contracts for construction of the Follo Line.
The EPC Ski contract is scheduled to be signed in the beginning of August, and the work will commence immediately thereafter.
The project area for the EPC Ski contract is located about 25 km south of Oslo, covering the public transport centre of Ski and the open section between Langhus and Ski, including a total reconstruction of Ski station.
The contract for the Follo Line project, which is the country’s largest transport project, is valued at approximately NOK 2.5 billion (EUR 282 million . Both Norwegian and foreign companies have shown great interest in the project.
The project is currently the largest transport project in Norway and includes the country’s longest railway tunnel (20 km). Combined with the existing Østfold Line, four tracks to the capital Oslo will represent more trains and faster trains on schedule.
