Minister of the Interior and Transport Florencio Randazzo announced that China delivered USD 9 million to state-owned company Belgrano Cargas and Logística for the rehabilitation and modernization of transport infrastructure in Santa Fe, San Juan, and Jujuy provinces.
The ammount are destinated to improve 3000 km of the Belgrano network, and represents the first tranche of the USD 1.23 billion provided by China.
Randazzo said that within next weeks the company expects two more tranches as works progessed in the 17 provinces that are connected by railway infrastructure.
“With this funding, we have managed the instruction of President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner to allocate USD 1.23 billion to improve rail transport infrastructure,” the Minister said.
