The volume of Moldova’s combined railway, road, river and air freight traffic fell by 0.6% in January-May, to 4.31 million tonnes, according to data provided by the country’s statistics bureau.
Calculated in freight tonne-kilometres (FTK), total traffic declined by an annual 5.9%, to approximately 1.45 billion FTK in the same period.
Road cargo transport increased by 4.6% in January-May, to 2.5 million tonnes. Rail freight continued its decline by 6.5%, to 1.76 million tonnes.
