Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) and Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana (FGV) signed a cooperation agreement to take on large-scale business opportunities at Spanish and international level.
The aim of the cooperation is a joint approach to developing new railway systems, both in Spain and internationally, which neither organisation could undertake by itself.
With this agreement the two public companies are expressing their determination to cooperate and take part in the marketing and execution of different projects, both alone and with other possible operators. This cooperation, initially for a two-year period, will also enable the two organisations to expand internationally. The projects included in this initiative are in areas such as the functional design of operating superstructures, transport systems and operations management systems, starting up operations, designing maintenance facilities and workshops, training maintenance experts and engineers and driver approval, among others.
