In January-March 2015, the volume of Moldova’s combined railway, road, river and air freight traffic rose by 4.5%, to 2.38 million tonnes, according to data provided by the National Statistics Bureau. However, the freight tonne-kilometres index showed a drop by an annual 5.3%, to 827 million tonne-kilometres.
Rail freight recorded a decrease of 0.3%, to 1,12 million tonnes, while road freight grew by 9.4%, to 1,22 million tonnes. River and air freight registered an increase of 9.2% and, respectively, a decrease of 11.1%.
