In 2015, PKP CARGO signed two-year agreements for rail freight with three leaders of the Polish wood-consuming industry – International Paper Kwidzyn company, Kronospan Szczecinek and Mondi Świecie. Under the new contracts, PKP CARGO will transport wood, wood products and woodchips. Each of these three companies is the largest producer in Poland in its market segment.
Total freight volume to be transported by PKP CARGO for Kronospan Szczecinek, IP Kwidzyn and Mondi within the two-year period will exceed 5 million of tonnes, 65% of which is allocated to wood freight.
Freight for the International Paper Group includes servicing the plant in Kwidzyn, producing different types of paper. International Paper is one of the largest global producers of cellulose, office paper as well as coated and uncoated consumer packaging.
