Construction works started for the suburban railway line of Izmir to extend the line to Selcuk. Izmir Metropolitan Municipality started constructing stations and under/overpasses. Signalization and electrification have to be completed by TCDD to have the line ready. The line is currently 80 km long. An extension of 30 km to Torbali is expected to be completed in the second half of 2016. With this extension to Selcuk, the line will reach to 136 km.
