For the construction of metro line 2, Metro de Panamá received bids from three consortia:
– Consorcio UTE Panamá II, made up of Dragados from Spain with Ingenieros Civiles Asociados of Mexico and Peru’s Graña y Montero
– Consorcio Línea 2, made up of Norberto Odebrecht of Brazil and FCC of Spain
– Consorcio Panametro – Consorcio Internacional Metro de Panamá L2, made up of Chinese companies China Harbour Engineering Company and China Railway First Group, together with Corsan-Corviam Construction.
The bidders deposited separate technical and financial proposals. The financial proposals will not be opened until the technical submissions have been evaluated. The technical part of the bid will account for 51% of the weighting.
The contract covers engineering design as well as civil works for the line including its stations. The winning team will have 46 months to carry out the work.
