Kazakhstan joins ‘Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Oman’ transit-transport corridor

Kazakhstan joins  Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Oman transit-transport corridorIran held a meeting of the Coordination Council of the participating countries of “Ashgabat Agreement”, writes Kazinform. Ashgabat Agreement participating countries approved Kazakhstan’s accession to the international transit and transport corridor “Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Oman”.
The head of Kazakh delegation noted that Kazakhstan attaches great importance to cooperation within the format of the Ashgabat Agreement to create an international transport and transit corridor between Iran, Oman, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
A. Mamin also noted that Kazakhstan sees great potential to attract additional freight traffic in the region of the Ashgabat Agreement member-states.
The meeting was attended by a delegation of Kazakhstan headed by the President of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, A. Mamin. In his speech he noted that major international transport corridors run through the territory of Kazakhstan.
