Romanian railway infrastructure manager, CFR SA, organises on 12 February 2015, a call public tender to rent 900 km of non-interoperable railways for carrying out the infrastructure management activity and provision of public passenger and/or freight transport services.
Romanian legal persons with the status of licensed rail transport operators will be able to submit bids for one or more non-interoperable sections on which to provide passenger transport services, freight transport services or both.
The bids will be opened during the same day. The legal persons interested to participate in the tender will be able to submit the documents up to the day of the procedure. The leasing contract validity period is of 4 years and the selection criterion will be the highest price. The 27 non-interoperable railway sections to be tendered pertain to the 8 regional rail subsidiaries – Bucharest, Craiova, Timişoara, Cluj, Braşov, Iaşi, Galaţi and Constanţa.
