Port Complex Ruse EAD will operate a regular block train service between Bulgaria and Germany, according to Bulgaria’s Transport Ministry. The pilot project envisages intermodal road-rail combined transport. The block train has a capacity of 68 trailers and will make one round trip per week. By end-2015, around 3000 trailers of cargo are to be processed. The project is part of the efforts of Port Ruse to develop intermodal transport and introduce new methods of combined road-river cargo transport.
